Zucchini flowers  are the blossoms from zucchini plants. The male ones are ideal  for cooking because  they have a stem  and are easier  to handle.

Ingredients

1. Whisk an egg with water. 2. Add the flour  and seasonings. Whisk to combine. 3. Stir in the basil. 4. Batter  the flowers. 5. Flip over to coat the other sides. 6. Fry.

Transfer to a paper towel-lined platter  to absorb excess oil. Serve immediately so they're crispy!
